A$AP Rocky has been named creative director for a partnership between Puma and Formula 1.
The rapper, designer and boyfriend of Rihanna will serve as creative director of the F1 partnership, which will "focus on the intersection of the sport and streetwear," according to a press release from Puma on Monday.
Rocky, 35, will design clothing capsules and bring a new perspective to the brand with his "fashion knowledge, style and cultural expertise," which will influence Puma's "seasonal design directions" going forward.
"Working with brands as iconic as PUMA, and as innovative as F1, has been truly inspiring," Rocky shared in the release. "When the world sees what were (sic) doing, I believe a shift will happen with how brand's (sic) approach taking risks and working with diverse creatives."
"We couldn't be more excited to be working with A$AP Rocky. He's incredibly talented, deeply thoughtful and invested in our brand," said Maria Valdes, Puma's chief product officer. "He will influence the broader PUMA x F1 range and will continue to help push sport and culture forward."
Puma announced its partnership with the motorsport in May.
Rocky will also have a hand in producing visuals and video content for the brand, including a campaign that explores American car culture and its impact on streetwear and fashion.
Rihanna and A$AP Rockywelcome second baby, reports say.
An "extremely limited" Puma and F1 apparel and accessory collection will drop later this year. Future capsule collections will coincide with F1 races and will include activations at several Grande Prix races starting in Miami next year.
Partnerships with Puma seem to be a family affair for Rocky and Rihanna, as the "Lift Me Up" singer, 35, has also worked with the German athletic brand for their Fenty x Puma partnership.
